Regulated Wastes at Taubman Medical Library

The following waste streams are regulated at the University of Michigan. These items CANNOT be disposed in the general trash and must be recycled.

BATTERIES – All types and sizes
Battery Bucket locations:

  • Floors 4, 5 & 6, Taubman Library – Room 4950 behind Circulation Desk
  • Floor 3, Learning Resource Center – Room 3929 (Matt Undy and Al Bell’s Office)
  • Floor 2, Medical Administration & RITC – MSIS HelpDesk Area, Room 2919

LIGHT BULBS – All types and sizes, including compact fluorescent, UV, projector bulbs, high intensity discharge bulbs, mercury-vapor and incandescent bulbs
For proper disposal contact:
Zone Maintenance at 647-2059

ELECTRONIC WASTE – All devices operated by electricity that contain circuit boards (i.e. anything with a cord, digital display or battery) such as computers and accessories, telephones, cell phones, PDAs, remote controls, microwaves, televisions, cables, etc.

FLOORS 4, 5 & 6, TAUBMAN LIBRARY:

  • For proper disposal of computers and accessories, including printers and phones, contact:   Desktop Support Services (Helpdesk) at 936-3821 or libhelpdesk@umich.edu
  • For proper disposal of all other electronic waste, including kitchen appliances, fans, and desk lamps, contact:  Property Disposition at 764-2470
